Community & Local Authority

Marriott Land strongly believes that a development should reflect the needs of the local community and other stakeholders affected by it. That’s why we start our public engagement as early as possible in the planning process.

Whether it’s local residents, the Parish Council or local action groups - local people know their town or village better than anyone else. We want to understand local needs and concerns in order to help shape our scheme masterplan.

Feedback from our public engagement is the key ingredient to understanding what local issues there are and how they may be addressed. For example, the provision of new or improved local services could be facilitated by a development.

Planning Officers

We appreciate Planning Officers can face an unenviable task of managing conflicting views and subsequent tensions that can be created by development. We have a great deal of respect for the job that Planning Officers do and seek to engage with them at the earliest opportunity. Early pre-application discussions with the Planning Officer help to build a close working relationship and address issues together before and after the submission of the planning application.

We can engage with local stakeholders in a number of ways;-

Where we live has a measurable effect on our physical and mental health: on how much we walk, on how many neighbours we know or how tense we feel on the daily journey to work or school. Places affect us from the air that we breathe to our ultimate sense of purpose and wellbeing.
